We measure our performance using Group-wide KPIs and basing our measurements on international standards.
Group-wide KPIs for monitoring success
We have been using Group-wide KPIs since 2009 to monitor our performance: ESG (environmental, social, governance) KPIs (key performance indicators). They help us continue to systematically improve our performance. For example, we use specific KPIs to measure energy consumption and emissions, our sustainability efforts in the supply chain and our social activities.
Our measurements are based on international norms and standards
Our measurements are based on international norms and standards. We have been using the ISO 14001 standard for environmental management systems since 1998. We employ an energy management system compliant with ISO 50001 to improve our energy efficiency. Compliance with ISO standards means more efficient use of resources and reducing energy consumption as well as reduced waste production.
Investors regularly assess our sustainability performance. These corporate responsibility ratings provide them with information for their investment decisions. The CDP Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) is based on a score out of 100 points. We established ourselves as the industry leader in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) with a score of 99.
The STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index has listed Deutsche Telekom for several years in a row. Our T-Share is also regularly listed in the FTSE4Good Index and UN Global Compact 100 Index (Current position in rankings and ratings).
